Power BI Goals and Metrics
Hi tomperro
Thank you for your question on the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum. For large teams, it’s best to use connected metrics instead of manually setting goals for each employee. Begin by creating a structured data model with a table that stores essential fields like EmployeeID, EmployeeName, Group, Subgroup, Goal, Actual and Manager. In Power BI Service, use the “Connect to Data” feature when building scorecards so one metric definition can automatically scale across all employees, avoiding unnecessary duplication.
To reflect the organizational hierarchy, metrics can be aggregated at the group or subgroup level, giving managers summarized insights while still letting individuals track their own performance. Applying Row-Level Security (RLS) ensures that each user whether employee or manager, only sees the data relevant to them, streamlining access and keeping information secure.
