Power BI Gateway installation
Hello,
I'm trying to set up the gateway. We had a gateway configured before but the machine went down and Gateway installation got wiped out. We set up a new machine and I was able to install the gateway fine. I'm stuck on this screen while configuration. Do I have to use the same email account we used with original gateway setup or can I use my Office 365 account email with my organization here.

Yes, The email account you used during the gateway setup will be granted admin permissions for the gateway and will tie the gateway to your Power BI tenant. Try again with that. If you need more info please follow the below accepeted solutions.

To resolve the Power BI Gateway sign-in error:
- Check Permissions: Ensure the email has Global Admin or Power BI Admin permissions in your organization.
- Use Default Browser: Check "Use my default web browser" to authenticate correctly.
- Check SSO: Verify SSO is correctly configured for the account.
- Try Another Account: Use an Office 365 email with proper admin rights if the original account fails.
- Export Logs: Click Export Logs to review detailed errors for additional insight.
- Check Permissions: Ensure the email has Global Admin or Power BI Admin permissions in your organization.

Vinay Kumar.I got this to work with the email account that was used with the original configuration. I needed the Resource key and other details were populated as it recognized the original account.
