Power BI Gateway disconnected
Hello, I'm using the power bi gateway version 3000.114.6
I have installed it successfully despite having some .NET errors I discarded. Signed on with my account and could see the gateway up in Power BI Service. Problem is, after a while the gateway gets disconnected.
Sometimes it shows as connected in my local server but disconnected in power bi service.
Sometimes it shows as configured but still needs to connect. Is there a way to persist this connection somehow?
The purpose of the gateway is to always be up in case we need to refresh the reports and this is not working out this way.
I am using the default configuration.
Thank you for your help.

Hello @Anonymous ,
Thank you. The computer does meet the minimum requirements but not so sure about the related considerations.
In any case, I think my problem is network related.
Opening the necessary ports seems to solve the problem for now.

Hi @Anonymous
Does the computer on which you installed the gateway meet the minimum requirements for gateway installation ?
In addition to the deployment environment requirements, you also need to pay attention to Related considerations .
You can uninstall the gateway in the control panel, then check whether your computer meets the gateway installation, and then reinstall the latest version of the standard gateway . For the gateway deployment environment, you can refer to the following official documents.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/data-integration/gateway/service-gateway-install

Hi @Anonymous
I would suggest uninstalling the gateway and re-installing again. You need to have the .NET versions installed as a pre-requisite to ensure that the gateway can run as expected.

Hello @GilbertQ ,
I already had .NET Framework 4.8 installed before I installed the gateway.
Uninstalling the gateway I get Failure to uninstall the gateway with the following error and I can't even close the window error until I force stop the process from windows task:
System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Une exception a été levée par la cible d'un appel. ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: Failed to get the PowerGetActiveScheme!
à Microsoft.PowerBI.DataMovement.SystemConfigurationUtils.SystemConfiguration.IsSleepEnabled()
à Microsoft.PowerBI.DataMovement.Installer.Model.get_IsSleepEnabled()
--- Fin de la trace de la pile d'exception interne ---
à System.RuntimeMethodHandle.InvokeMethod(Object target, Object[] arguments, Signature sig, Boolean constructor)
à System.Reflection.RuntimeMethodInfo.UnsafeInvokeInternal(Object obj, Object[] parameters, Object[] arguments)
à System.Reflection.RuntimeMethodInfo.Invoke(Object obj, BindingFlags invokeAttr, Binder binder, Object[] parameters, CultureInfo culture)
à System.Reflection.RuntimePropertyInfo.GetValue(Object obj, BindingFlags invokeAttr, Binder binder, Object[] index, CultureInfo culture)
à System.Reflection.RuntimePropertyInfo.GetValue(Object obj, Object[] index)

à Microsoft.PowerBI.DataMovement.Installer.CompleteViewModel.DoNext()
à Microsoft.PowerBI.DataMovement.Installer.WizardViewModelBase.<get_NextCommand>b__50_0(Object param)
à Microsoft.PowerBI.DataMovement.Installer.RelayCommand.<>c__DisplayClass19_0.<Execute>b__0()
But it looks like it is uninstalled. Same thing happens on the installation. I force stop the installation process after getting these .NET errors but going back to the gateway, it looks like it is installed.
What do you suggest doing next? Does it look like a .NET framework installation problem?
Thank you for your time
