Hi david_busint,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
I appreciate the valuable insights shared by gtiwari11 and lbendlin. The troubleshooting guide provided is a great starting point, and checking for domain trust issues, as suggested, is also a valid consideration.Regarding your issue with SQL Server connections failing after the gateway update, here are some additional steps you can consider:
- Please verify the authentication mode in your data source settings and confirm that the credentials stored in the gateway are still valid. Updates can occasionally reset or invalidate saved credentials, necessitating reconfiguration.
- Go to Manage Gateways in the Power BI Service and verify that your SQL data source is still correctly mapped. Try re-entering the credentials and saving the connection again.
- Some gateway updates enforce stricter security settings. If your SQL Server requires encrypted connections, check if this setting has changed post-update.
- You can find logs in the installation folder of your on-premises gateway. Look for errors related to authentication or connectivity.
If this helps, then please Accept it as a solution and dropping a "Kudos" so other members can find it more easily.
Thank you.
