Power BI Gateway Refresh Failure

Hi Everyone,

 

error i will  get when refreshing one of the report ( More information below)

 

Last refresh failed: Wed Oct 14 2020 17:27:52 GMT+1100 (Australian Eastern Daylight Time)

local refresh is fine

another report with files that is 200MB refresh fine

only different between the fail report and the 200MB report is the data source type is different, one is Folder Type(failed) and the other is file type

 

what am im missing here??

    one thing missing in your post is the complete error message.

        That is indeed very sparse. Does it work on the desktop? What's the data source? File folder or Sharepoint Folder?  If the former, do you have a gateway?

    Thanks for your reply again mate

    local desktop refresh works fine

    data source is excel file but we are loading it as a folder level due to more excel files will be added to that folder for the report later on

     

    we are currently using an on premise enterprise gateway to our file server

      does the gateway say anything about missing credentials? You didn't skip the connection test, did you?

    hey mate,

     

    nope cant see anywhere it say missing credentials, i didnt skip the connection test

     

    have tried using even admin credentials, as i was scared could be permission level but that didnt work either

     

    i just downloaded the gateway log, but there is heaps of files in there, any idea which one i should be looking at?

        Job lodged, thanks for your help

         

        but i did another test, i reduce the size of the excel from 60MB to a few kbs it work, refresh work fine!!

         

        problem is i had another report that has a data source connecting to an excel file that is 200MB have no issues!!!
