Power BI Gateway Issue: Cannot create connections sourced from shared folder with shared Gateway
Hi SuperFrankie -if the owner’s account can access the shared folders, your corporate Windows account may not have the necessary permissions.
Check the shared folder's permissions:Ensure that your corporate Windows account has both Read and Write permissions on the shared folder. You may need to contact the folder owner or IT support to ensure that your account is granted the appropriate permissions.Make sure that the service account running the On-Premise Data Gateway has permissions to access the shared folders:Check which account the gateway is using (this can be checked in the gateway settings).Grant the service account permissions to the shared folder.Go to the On-Premise Data Gateway settings and verify if the folder path is correctly configured.Check for any restrictions on the types of data sources that can be accessed. When adding a new data source in Power BI:Ensure that you are using the correct credentials to connect to the shared folder.Try re-adding the data source in the gateway configuration with the appropriate permissions.
Hope this information helps.
