Power BI Gateway - Datasource.error without any reason for Analysis Services
Hi everyone,
I have a problem with the gateway: I get error when I have an Analysis Services source and I don't have any detail of it. I got System Error and then Datasource.error, without any reason. I've tried to look at the gateway log files but it's the same.
The gateway works for the Datawarehouse installed in the same server of the analysis services. I have checked all security issues and the user has access to it. The strange thing is that the PowerBI Desktop file has no problem in connecting to Analysis Services.

Update:
I've solved the problem with a very strange way that I haven't understood.
In the effective username, I have changed the administrator user with a user with only read permission to analysis services and I've solved the problem.

Are you using an enterprise gateway or a personal gateway? The personal mode gateway does not support Analysis Services live connection.
Configuring the data source from the Analysis Services requires the following points to be aware of, which you can check:
(1)The current computer is in a domain environment.
(2) The Windows account must be the Server Administrator of the AS instance.
(3) The EffectiveUserName must be the same as the UPN in the AD.
(4) Has Read permission in the role of the AS instance.

Thanks for your reply.
We use the enterprise gateway and I have checked all the prerequisites.. I have always the same error. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall but nothing changed. I don't know what to do now, it seems like I cannot use the gateway with Analysis Services.
