Hello
We experience massiv performance issues, when multiple customers access our reports and we are trying to figure out what steps to take.
We provide customers access to embeded Power BI reports.
Current setup:
In our current setup we are running every thing on our embeded capacity. So we build one data model and build different reports on top of that data model. The data model is around 1.5gb in size. The data model is published in our embeded capacity. We then build reports on top of the data model and publish them on our embeded capacity. The reports are then embeded on a website, that customers can access.
The issue is that when customers access our reports, we experience overload on our capacity. We have tried scalling up our capacity, but we still have overload when customers interact with our reports.
Next step:
We are currently trying to optimize our data model, but can we do other things to have more people interact with our reports?
We are thinking about moving our data model to Azure Analysis Service and just use our embeded capacity as a front end, would that help? Our database is in Azure Cloud
Hope someone can help
We are currently trying to optimize our data model
Maybe you want to extend that to optimize the queries that feed your visuals. Use DAX Studio to examine the query plans and server timings.
