Power BI Desktop renders correctly; Power BI Service collapses/clips matrix column headers after pub

Column header collapse when published in workspace. desktop is fine

  • Hi Arnaud31450

This behavior is usually related to how the Matrix visual renders in Power BI Service compared to Desktop. In Desktop the headers may display correctly, but after publishing the Service can automatically resize or scale the visual, which may cause the column headers to appear collapsed or clipped.

Could you please try the below steps once:

    • Select the Matrix visual in Power BI Desktop.
    • Go to the Format pane - Column headers.
    • Turn OFF Auto-size width.
    • Manually increase the width of the affected columns.
    • Save and republish the report.

Also in Power BI Service try switching the report view from Fit to page/width to Actual size, as scaling can sometimes compress the headers.

If the visual is pinned to a dashboard, please also check whether the tile size is large enough to display the headers properly.

    Hope this helps !!

    Thank You.

I am also having this issue across all of my matrixes in my reports. It seems to have shown up in the past week and a half. I've tried republishing, turning on and off auto-fit, adjusting spacing, all with no luck.

Turn off text wrap in the service editor for column headers for given matrix. I am testing, if I can do it in desktop and push to service.
