Power BI Desktop Updates Uploaded to SharePoint Folder Are Not Reflected in SharePoint Page Visual
When I make Power BI desktop updates to a file, I replace the existing file with the new file (using the same file name) in an existing SharePoint folder to keep the same path in the Power BI workspace. I used to be able to just refresh the semantic model of the BI report, and the published version of the report in SharePoint > Pages for my team would just be reflected with the new updates. About 6 months ago, the semantic model refresh seemed to not work and now I have to keep deleting the semantic model, re-upload it and republish in SharePoint > Pages in order for the updates to be reflected. Why aren't the updates no longer easily being reflected in the SharePoint > Pages visual?
Hey DMB90 ,
Semantic models are storing in Power BI Service, you should stop replacing .pbix in Sharepoint folder. You should publish from Power BI Desktop directly to workspace and overwrite existing dataset. Keep same workspace keep same semantic model name keep same report name.
