I have a series of reports that are connected to a power bi semantic model located on the power bi server.
I need to update these reports to all point at a different power bi semantic model with the same schema of the underlying data. I am hoping to be able to accomplish this without needing to manually rebuild the visuals in the reports, but just swap datasets. Is there a way to do this with this setup?

Only if you have individual queries to connect to the semantic model, and only if the output of both models is EXACTLY the same, down to the tiniest letter. In all other cases switching will result in loss of : Measures, Groups, Sorts, etc etc.
