Good morning, I would like to have some tips on how use power BI datamarts effectively in a Company Scenario:
- I would like to give the possibility also to the users to build "no official model" also with local data.
The problem for me is that the row level security must be managed by the ICT department. What I would like to do is to provide them Dataflows that can be used also in a datamart scenario but the row level security cannot be managed by the users.
How do you face this scenario?
Hi @thebigwhite
I don't quite understand that you said not bypass the rls security ? If users can build their reports based on your dataset , that means RLS not work for them .

Hi @thebigwhite
So, you mean to allow users to use your dataset to create their own reports ? In this case, RLS doesn't work because RLS doesn't work for users with edit permissions on the dataset, it only works for users with view permissions . Let users create their own reports from the dataset you provide, you can refer to the following documentation .

thanks for the answer. What about the datamarts scenari?
I am already using the solution of dataset (users are building reports from certified dataset).
Can the user create their own datamart but not bypass the rls security?
Thanks
