Power BI Data Gateway

Hello,

I have a power BI data gateway installed on a client's network but the username associated with that data gateway is my microsoft login that isn't in their domain. I need to be able to configure auto sign for the data gateway but I'm unable to configure that with my login on a client's domain.

Please advise on how I can get the gateway to auto-sign in. It continually loses connection for scheduled refreshes without this.

You will have to go into the Power BI Service and then go to the "Manage Gateways and Connections"

Then click on the "On-Premise data Gateway", then where you see the three dots ... click on manage users. Next add in the email address and make sure that it has Admin permissions. Then click Save.

Once that is done, go back to the Gateway and sign in with admin account you added above.

GilbertQ I'm still having issues with the gateway disconnecting. Is there a way to set a user credential outside of my domain as the data gateway login?

        Hi ksicard2430

I have not attemped that in the past I would suggest only using an internal domain name. Going across domains for other data sources is very difficult to get working.

      Gilbert,

Thanks for answering. The user that needs to be added is in a different domain. Is there a way around that?
