Power BI Data Gateway Recovery Key
You need the recovery key every time you want to add a physical gateway cluster node to your logical gateway definition in the Azure service.
If your gateway recovery key leaks someone else will be able to add their own VMs to your gateway and -worst case - replace the anchor member.
If on the other hand you lose your recovery key then you are DOOMED. I am not kidding. A gateway without a recovery key is basically a lost cause. You will have to start over completely.
Losing your recovery key is much worse than leaking it.
1. A gateway without a recovery key is basically a lost cause >> but if lost, can regenerate a new one, so why?
2. in the Gateway installation guide, it also mentioned the Recovrey Key is used to restore the gateway, any detail how is used when in restore? or where is the restore guide? any reference?
3. how to replace a new key ?
You cannot regenerate a recovery key unless you know the old one.
