Power BI Dashboard - Stacked Bar Chart Resizing Issue - Help Needed
Hello Everyone,
I'm facing an issue with a Stacked Bar Chart in my Power BI dashboard. I need the visual to be long enough to display all values on the Y-axis, so I manually stretch it to the required size. However, every time I close and reopen the report, the chart shrinks back and doesn’t retain the adjusted size.
I've tried resizing multiple times and ensuring there are no conflicting settings, but the issue persists.
Has anyone encountered this before? Is there a setting or workaround that can help preserve the visual size after adjustments?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

- Turn off Responsive Layout: In the visual's Format > General > Properties, toggle Responsive off.
- Adjust Page Size: Ensure the page size fits the visual under View > Page Size.
- If there are bookmarks please make sure that the visual is not being effected by saved bookamrk

Thank you so much for your reply, I will try to try these fixes but I just wanted to highlight that this is happening in my Power BI Dashboard and not my Power BI Report, because I think all the settings you mentioned can be found in Power BI Reports but not in Power BI Dashboards.

Thank you for reaching out. We appreciate Akash_Varuna response, which correctly addresses the issue. Ensuring that Responsive Layout is turned off, adjusting the Page Size to fit the visual, and verifying that Bookmarks are not overriding the visual’s size are key steps to resolving this problem.
Additionally, we recommend enabling "Maintain Layer Order" (Format Pane > General > Enable Maintain Layer Order) to prevent unexpected resizing and setting the Page View to "Actual Size" (View > Page View > Select Actual Size) to avoid automatic adjustments by Power BI. These steps should help retain the manual resizing of your Stacked Bar Chart after reopening the report.

I really appreciate your patience, and I apologize for any confusion caused. Our first response was based on Power BI Reports, but since you’re working with a Power BI Dashboard, things work a bit differently. To fix this, try resizing the visual in the original report, save it, and then repin it to your dashboard. Also, go to Edit Dashboard and turn off Tile Flow to stop Power BI from resizing the visual automatically.
