Power BI Button functionality is not responding in published version.

Hi All,

In a bar and line chart with LY, TY, and % difference of revenue. We have set a button functionality to multi-select between these three measures, similar to the field parameter (it filters out columns and lines based on selection), but by using SWITCH in the DAX. This functionality works properly in the desktop version but not in the published version (it responds in published version as needed only when the % difference (measure corresponding to line) is selected). We had previously encountered the same issue, but it got rectified automatically without any workaround.

We tried clearing the desktop and browser caches, as well as publishing a new instance of the dashboard, but it did not work.

Your guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

  • Hey, Thanks for posting this. As per my knowladge SWITCH function alone may not directly support multi-select, you can create DAX logic to handle multiple conditions. If multi-select functionality is crucial and not behaving as expected, consider revisiting your approach using bookmarks or other built-in Power BI features.

    Hi pbi_service

Here are some steps for your reference:

You can test in Different Browsers, try accessing the published dashboard in different browsers to see if the issue persists.

Ensure both Power BI Desktop and the Power BI Service are updated to the latest versions. Sometimes, discrepancies between versions can cause unexpected behavior.

Verify the settings in the Power BI Service. Ensure that any settings related to interactions, filters, or visuals are consistent with what you have in the desktop version.

Try recreating the visuals from scratch in a new report. Sometimes, starting fresh can resolve issues that are hard to pinpoint.

    Best Regards
