Power Automate button often not usable in PBI Service

Hello PBI community!

I added a Power Automate Cloudflow to a PBI report. That flow is triggered when a user clicks on a button.

However, that button is often blank and cannot be used.

After refreshing the browser several times, the buttons are suddenly displayed as expected and can be used.

It seems that this only happens when Microsoft Edge is used. In Google Chrome I have never faced this problem. The buttons are loaded and displayed correctly when usinig Chrome.

I already changed some settings in MS Edge, but none of them made the buttons work.

Any ideas? Has anyone seen like this before?

Thank you!

Hey folks! Best wishes for 2023! I figured out that the buttons were unusable every time when they have been loaded at the end. I think that some kind of filter or SQL query keeps the buttons from working. So I created a bookmark that makes the automate buttons accessible after using that bookmark.

Hi @Anonymous ,
I should have mentioned that cleaning the browser cache was the first thing I did 🙂
If I - also happening on a different PC/user - refresh the report page, the buttons work fine in 4 of 10 attempts.
This morning I noticed that the same happens when the report is opened in the PBI add-in in MS Teams as well.

This is quite annoying 🤔

Hi @svenbrueggemann ,

May I know whether you create this Automate button with the Power Automate visual for Power BI in Desktop and then publish it to service? If you create it in Desktop, will it run successfully? If you repulish the report, will it be rendered properly in service?

I cannot reproduce the issue, please provide more details.

Originally, I created the buttons in Desktop using the Power Automate visual and then published the report.

Afterwards, I re-created and configured the buttons directly in the service, since there was a problem with the trigger because I changed something within the data source.
For testing I just created another Automate button in the service. And after switching to the reading view, that new button is not rendered.
In addition, I downloaded the report and created another Automate button in Desktop again. I uploaded the report and that new button is not rendered either.
Interesting: there is not even at least one button that works. If the problem occurs, then none of those Automate buttons is rendered.

Hi @svenbrueggemann ,

It seems that it works well in Google Chrome. Could you please clean your browser cache and reload it to try it.
