Postgres Connector Invalid Certificate and Auto Refresh via Cloud Connection

Hello everyone!

I'm struggling with the Postgres Connector.

I have SSL certificates installed and configured. They seem to be set up correctly since an encrypted DB connection works fine in DBeaver.

However, when I make an encrypted connection in PowerBI Desktop, it fails to refresh with the error: "The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure." I can refresh the data source using the unencrypted connector, but I still can't make an automatic refresh via Cloud Connection in PBI Service (same error).

I've tried using older versions of PBI Desktop (July, August 2024), but it didn't help.

I know I can use an ODBC connector as an alternative, and I've tested it successfully. However, I prefer using the Cloud Connection for automatic refreshes which is not applicable for the ODBC connector.

Is there a way to make the Postgres Connector work? I would really appreciate any help! Thank you!

Hi @chvladimirova

As far as I am aware, it is not possible to create a cloud connection to the PostGres server at the moment. You will have to use an ODBC connector.
