Point Power BI Service to another dataset

Accidentally deleted an existing dataset where my Power BI report using the Power BI Service was linked to.  I reuploaded the dataset under another group.  is there a method to point my existing Powe...

    I did only copy the connection file and have the latest powerbi.

     

    Note that I ended up fixing it by restoring the group/workspace that was accidentally deleted by a collaegue.

Hi SandyBL,

In SU08, this feature is going to be generally available. We support rebinding the dataset in the PBI Desktop. So, if user deletes their data set in service. In Desktop they can rebind to another dataset.

I have got a information that a new feature which supports rebinding the dataset in the PBI Desktop is going to be generally available in next release of Power BI Desktop((Aug 2017)). :smileyhappy:
