Please help me in Data Gateway Connection.

Scenario - 
I have fetched data using SQL Server and also VPN IS Enable. 
I have follow all step by syep procedure.
1. Create gateway. 

2. Filled Connection Name.

3. Connection Type: SQL Server
4. Server : (with : port number)

5. DataBase Name.

6. Then Authentication 
 a. Authentication  Method (Basic)

 b.  Username and Password ( Tried both Credentials - VPN & Server 

7. In Privacey Level - Orgnisation 


still got below error

now credentials get okey. But not not able to add gate way. Got below error

Hi @Mukund1234  ,

I could see that error you are getting is related to failed connection with SQL Server.
The error, "error 25- Connection string is not valid" indicates that its  preventing the database client from establishing a valid connection to the server.
1. Check if you are using the correct string to connect.
2.Just use the instance name and do not use the HOST NAME

Because you are using a VPN, you will need to install a power BI standard gateway and then configure the connection to gateway on your gateway is where you will install the VPN to connect your database server. Unfortunately there is no other way to get this done successfully. Install an on-premises data gateway | Microsoft Learn

I have used Same as you reply - standard gateway. Even unable to get connected.
