Hi,
in order to publish a pbix file that gets data from an Oracle database on-premise, I need to check the existing Power BI prod architecture. There is a machine with the gateway installed: is it right to install the Oracle client on this gateway machine before to publish the pbix file on the Power BI service?
Thanks

HI @Anonymous ,
You might be comingling things here. Publishing the report can be done with our without a gateway. If you have data that is not in the cloud, then you will need a gateway.
If your data is in the cloud then you can probably just setup refreshes without a gateway.
If you want to have automatic, scheduled refreshes, AND your data is not in the cloud, then you have to have a gateway. So, if you want to have the scheduled refresh, then you will need to install the gateway.
To use the scheduled refresh, once you publish the report, then you use the gateway to get to the data.
