Pin visual to my workspace

I presume, pinning to another workspace, mainly my workspace, is now a feature. I'm saying, because a user did that, somehow. Or at least, their dashboard in their workspace contains pinned visuals from a workspace she was assigned as a contributor.

The main question here, what would be the reason why she isn't able to do that anymore? Is this some global setting the governance team may have switched it "off" again?

  • Hi. That's not possible. You can't pin a visual from one workspace to another. You can only pin report visuals to a dashboard that is hosted in the same workspace. She might be a Contributor at a workspace and have pinned the visual from a report to a dashboard at the same workspace.

    I hope that helps,

ibarrau , What is this rubbish then? The view is the lineage of the dashboard from the "my workspace" of the particular user.

You can clearly see that the dataset's workspace is different. Seems like this user has created the impossible then.

The linage shows only one workspace, in this case "My Workspace". It shows that "My Workspace" has a dataset with multiple dashboards. It's not showing something outside the workspace.

Right now the weird thing is arrows from dataset to dashboards. It might be something old that would let you pin from a dataset to a dashboard because right now it's impossible to pin from a dataset, it will ask to save as report before pinning and it forces a report.

        Regards,
