Phantom column missing error in PBI Online but refreshes fine in Desktop

Hi -

We have a pbix connected to CSVs in ADLS Gen2 storage.  When refreshing on Power BI Online, we keep getting errors saying there are 2 columns missing - like this error below:

"Data source error: The 'Sch H E&P2' column does not exist in the rowset."

The CSVs do contain a field called 'Sch H E&P', but not 'Sch H E&P2'.  When we open Power Query in Power BI Desktop, the queries don't have 'Sch H E&P2' either.  And the pbix refreshes fine in Desktop.

Based on research of this community, I've seen similar errors with Sharepoint Lists and advice to 'Remove other columns', but adding that step to the queries with errors didn't work.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

- Tiffany

Update:

We haven't really figured out an answer to this question but have determined that we have a data issue.  So this Power Query error might go away once we resolve the data issue.

Usually it's the "change type" step that bumps into missing columns - you could remove any references to the columns in that step and see if that does it. Generally though if you just start at the bottom of the applied steps and click up through them one at a time you can narrow down which step is having the reference issue and just remove it there--

Thanks, Christine!  Will give that a shot.
