Personal gateway and refresh

Hello,

I have got simple question. I fully understand the funcionality of gateway except one thing.

We want to deploy Power bi solution for our customer. (about 20 users).

Data sources are: sql server (used import, not direct query) and excel files.

 

Everybody creates reports in Power BI desktop. They mash up SQL server and Excel files stored localy. And then uploaded to PBI service.

Q1:How to achieve correct data refresh?

Q2:Does everyoneneed to install Pesronal gateway on their PCs? Or is it enough to install Pesronal gateway on SQL server machine?

Q3: Same scenario, but excel files are stored in one drive.

    Everyone installing Personal Gateway is one solution.

     

    However, going forward in this scenario, you would want to use the Enterprise Gateway, which is currently in Preview.
