Hello all,
I've been running PowerBI on my machine since March using a personal gateway for about 8 months now with no problems.
I have ensured my windows is up to date and made sure i have the most up to date version of the personal gateway. However over the last week it will not refresh from a scheduled refresh or when i try to manuallly refresh.
so what I do i sign into the gateway and restart the gateway and then update the data credentials and refresh.
This works until the next automatic refresh, where the same issue happens again when the gateway turns itself off. I will then have to repeat the same steps to set this up.
I am trying to figure out what is wrong... I have noticed though when I try acessing the reprts ont he web i sometimes get a dns error or a diffrent error which i will have to refresh the web page.
some other items that may be of use is that I do have two different sign in options when accessing powerbi web..
any help would be appreciated!

Hi @naigen
What I would suggest is to install the gateway on a server that never goes off.
Also make sure that the power plan is set to high performance to make sure that it does not turn anything else off (It sometimes could turn off the wifi etc)
The suggested way to do this is to rather install the standard gateway onto a virtual machine that is always on.
Hi Gilbert,
not sure what happened but it somehow fixed itself.
Will start getting that set up next week as its definitely ideal to have BI running on a pc.
Kind regards
Steven
Hi, thanks for the message.
I run this on a virtual desktop in my organisation that never turns off. the problem still persists even when I am still logged in.
It was running with no problems for 8 months previously..
