Personal Bookmarks in Power BI Service

Hi,

In Power BI desktop, when I create bookmarks, I can unselect Data so that the status of filters is not saved and only visuals status is saved. Is the same thing possible with Power BI service personal bookmarks?

I believe that Personal bookmarks are storing the filters status. When I am republishing the report with some additional changes ( some additional default report level filters applied), now, if any user has a personal bookmark saved prior to these changes and they navigate to that bookmark, then these default filters will be removed, which may result in some false/non-required data.

Is there any workaround for this?

Regards,

Aakash

There is no workaround.  Bookmarks capture meta data at the time of the bookmark creation. If you subsequently change the report design then these bookmarks will be impacted and can become corrupted.

Limit your design changes. Teach users how to recreate their personal bookmarks. Consider using common bookmarks (the ones you create in Power BI Desktop before publishing.  Use the "Chat in Teams" feature to capture and distribute bookmarks on the fly.
