Persistent filters with bookmarks

Hi all,

I have a report with some bookmarks, e.g. for a slicer pane that a user can open and select what they want to see. However, the state of the selection is not saved when a user closes the report and re-opens it. It shows the default view of the report page instead. If I put a slicer right on the page without any bookmark and make a selection, that selection is retained when I close and re-open the report.

I have the "Don't allow end sueres to save filters on this file in the Power BI service" unchecked in both the pbix-file as well es the report settings in the Power BI service. These are the settings of the aforementioned bookmark:

Is there anything I can do about this behaviour? I want the users to be able to retain the state of a report page no matter if they e.g. made a selection in a slicer in a slicer pane via bookmark or a slicer on the page itself without bookmark.

Hi @Mo_ ,

Power BI does not retain slicer selections made through bookmarks (e.g. slicer panes). Persistent filters only work for slicers placed directly on the visible report page or those in the filter pane.

Your settings (unchecked "Don’t allow end users to save filters") are correct, but bookmark-based slicers don’t participate in persistent filter saving.

To retain slicer selections across sessions:

• Place slicers directly on the report page, not inside bookmark panes.
• Persistent filters only work for visible page slicers and filter pane filters.
• Bookmarked slicer panes reset on reload — this is expected behavior.

Please uncheck 
Data and then update for the button which open and close the filter pane

"Data" is already unchecked, see the screenshot above.
