Helper IIPermissions... Confused......
I have a report which I have published to the PowerBI service.... and set up the gateway for scheduled refresh, so all good there, i then published an app and distributed to my 20 consumers.
I am confused though with permissions... as different people can see report, some cannot.... all have pro Licence, either in 60 day free trial or a paid licence. Some are owners of the dataset, rest are viewers...
Permissions: Workspace, Dataset; App
what is best practice to set this up ? What is the hierachy ? Why even though I have all users in the same permissions pot do some have different expereiences (works for some, doesnt work for others)......
What i want is all users with the App able to see and consume the report....

paulj1 The explanation of who has permissions vs. not is a little muddy. The owners would have access to the workspace and App. Those who you only shared the App with would need to get the App unless you installed it automatically (checkbox in publish). They would consume the App from the Apps section in the PBI Service. They wouldn't see the workspace. Only content creators should need access to a workspace, others should consume reports via you sharing with them. Do the end users know where to pick up the report or are they all looking in the same place that some won't see (the workspace).
