Performance of PBI Dataflow (Gen 1) with Excel spreadsheet has significantly degraded

Hi team, I noticed recently that Dataflow (Gen1) performance in connection with Excel spreadsheet has become significantly worse: I have a few dataflows connected with Excel on SharePoint, they used to take 2~3 minutes to refresh (very consistant), but in the past few weeks it has become +15 minutes, almost 4~5 times slower

What happened MS? I feel like the product overall is trending the wrong direction - it has become more and more bloated, but the most bread/butter services and performance/speed have become worse by each release ...

Same observation here. Loading data from sharepoint into dataflow Gen1 worked well. Has deteriorated drastically since last week and has become unworkable at times.

I switched some of my sources to csv, which performance is still good, but I can't switch all, the performance of Excel right now is so bad. Honestly quite surprising b/c these are MS products, if MS couldn't even get the most basic thing right, it sends a loud message about overall QA/QC of the product
