Performance Analyzer on Power BI Service

Hello,

I noticed that just like how we have Performance Analyzer in the Desktop there is something eqiuvalent in Power BI Service according to a recent update as can be seen here : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/performance-analyzer.

However on my Power BI Service I cannot see the Performance Analyzer under the View option on editing the report. I am using a  free Microsoft Fabric trial (Pro) subscription. I also have admin permissions to the workspace that my report is in. Is there anything else required to enable the Performance Analyzer on the PowerBI service?

If this is not an option then what other options are available to record usage metrics especially visual load times and the different splits like the Performance Analyzer would give on the Power BI Service specifically?

  • Hi. You are right. Docs are showing there should be an option but it's not there. This could be because it might be a recent launch of a preview feature and it take some time to be there for all regions. Sometimes the preview features are only available at some regions and not others.

You can rise a ticket to support or post an issue at community if you want to inform microsoft and make sure it's not an issue.

    I hope that helps,

  • Until that feature becomes available you can still use DAX Studio to connect to the service semantic model, and then run the DAX query that is tied to the visual giving you problems.

Thanks for the help. This worked. After adding the URL parameter the option to add the performance analyzer under the view option will be visible.
