Password changes in Power Bi Service

On-premises Gateway is registered with an power bi service account.Suppose that service account password is changing after one or two months later.Here Gateway is already registerd and configured with these account detils.So, if its password has changed means how it will affect the report refresh ? Plse give suggestions.

Hi nisha_deepak,

The password change of Power BI Service will not directly affect the refresh of the report. You may need to log in again with the new password at the local gateway.

if there is change in  the password you have to goto Gateway -> datasource settings   and need to provide the changed  password and Apply .

Are u saying about changing datasource password? Is it means ,then am not saying about datasource password changing  .Actually am saying about Power Bi service account password changing which i used to register On-premise Gateway.Please help me

Normally for service accounts we can set password "newer expire"  to avoid the risk of a service stop.

in case to service account password reset we need to update the same in on-premisis gateway ->Service Settings -> change Account
