Pass Parameters to Paginated Report inside PBI App

I am looking to pass parameters to a paginated report inside a Power BI App.  Has anyone ever attempted this and if so were you sucessful.  I currently have the paginated report working in a workspace and am able to pass parameters to the paginated report via URL.  However the goal is publish this as an app for our business users.  Without the ability to pass parameters inside of apps my current solution will not work.  

Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.
