Could you please advise if there has been any update on having row level security on paginated reports connected to Azure SQL database ?
Yes, you should be able to use oAuth and check the box for users to connect under their identity. It's covered in the documentation - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/paginated-reports-data-sources
