Paginated Reports in Service using Tabular Model DB

hi

I would like to create paginated reports in the Power BI Service (especially with the recently improved functionality in the Service where you don't need Report Builder).

It seems that it does not want to enable that option when you clicks on the Dataset and more options. It only shows Create Report.

I can confirm that the workspace and my user is Premium per User so it should be possible from that perspective.

I tested a PBIX created using the Import connection and then published that - I could Create Paginated Report from that. So it seems that it is either Tabular Model and/or Live Connection related.

  • Elaborate the process by which this step occured as it shows the option for creation of paginated report.

hi, Thank you for the prompt response.

Is your dataset that of a SSAS Tabular Model? Is it using a LiveConnection?

Please share details of the connection type and data source type as it appears in PBI Desktop.

I think creating a Dataflow Gen 2 for your model should eliminate the problem. Then the
I was using a dataset which got created when a pbix file got uploaded from local system.
