Paginated Report

Hi All,

I have multiple paginated reports which I had embedded in a PowerBi report. Till last week my team was able to view the embedded reports in Powerbi app using the link I shared. However since last week they are getting the below error. The paginated reports (rdl) and the report both are in the same workspace. Also the workspace license shows pro. Not sure why the colleagues are not able to access the report.  Can someone please help me in resolving the issue

Hi @janani80 ,

This error typically happens when the Power BI App is out of sync with the Workspace, or the permissions for the Paginated Report (RDL file) specifically have been lost during an update.

To fix the out of sync error follow the below steps:-

  • Go to your Workspace.

  • Click Update App (top right).

  • Go to the Content tab.

  • Crucial Step: Ensure the Paginated Report (.rdl) file itself is checked/included in the list of content.

  • Go to the Audience tab.

  • Ensure the "Audience" group your colleagues belong to has the box checked for the Paginated Report (even if hidden).

  • Click Update App.

🌟 I hope this solution helps you unlock your Power BI potential! If you found it helpful, click 'Mark as Solution' to guide others toward the answers they need.

Thanks Sapna.. I did follow the steps mentioned by you and it worked. Just wanted to mention that I had not included the rdl files in the app as the rdl reports are already embedded in a PowerBi report which I have added in the app. I have also created RLS access for few tabs in the PowerBI report so that some users can access only few tabs. I believe following the above steps would not hamper the RLS Access.

Hello @janani80,
Glad to hear the issue is resolved after updating the App. Please let us know if you face any further issues.

Regards,
Community Support Team.
