Paginated Report Parameters Will Not Load

I created a paginated report that references a SQL DB on an internal network server. Two of the report parameters rely on values returned from a SQL query of the same DB. The parameters and report work perfectly when I run the report in the Power BI Desktop app, but no values appear in the report parameters when I try to run the published report in Power BI Online. Nothing happens when I click on the parameter drop-down list.

Thank you very much in advance to anyone that may have some ideas to help me with this issue!

Make it easy and natural. Use short, personalized messages and timing them well—like after a successful purchase or service how to ask customers for feedback. A friendly request can improve response rates and provide valuable insights to enhance your business.

Hi, @Anonymous

Do you have a gateway link for your paginated reports in Power BI service?

@v-jianpeng-msft

Thank you very much for helping! This report connects to one of my company's internal DB Servers, so I am unable to share the report publicly.

Have you encountered issues like this where the paginated report runs without issue in the desktop application, but the report parameters do not even populate a list of values to select when the report is published to the online app?

Thanks,

Andy

Hi, @Anonymous

Thank you very much for your reply. Are you already configured with the correct gateway connection for this paginated report? In Power BI Service, if other data is affected, you can tell if it's a problem with your parameter settings or a problem with your gateway connection. You should refer to the official documentation below to confirm that the configured parameter steps are correct.

Jianpeng,

Thank you very much for that info! I will follow up on that to see if gateway connection configuration is correct.

Thanks,

Andy

The following is a snippet of the report parameters. Please note that the 'Department' and 'Company' parameter cannot be selected:
