Paginated Report Access: App Permissions vs. Workspace Access

How are paginated report users authorized?  Users can see it in the app, but do not have access to the underlying data.  We have to give them access to the workspace for it to work.   Feels like I'...

Hi,

  Users can consume the paginated reports from Power BI App with viewer access with premium. Does the paginated reports build on top of Power BI datasets or direct from data sources? 

 

If it is using Power BI datasets then you need to provide build permission to the dataset for users

Thank you.  I do have this checked: 

Allow all users to connect to the app's underlying datasets using the Build permission.

I still have to give them permission to view the workspace.  Am I missing something?
