Hello, we have a premium capacity (and a Pro) environment. After I created a new workspace in the premium environment and added a co-worker to it, this user gets a PPU trial 60 days message. It appears that Power BI does not recognize that this user is authorized to the premium capacity environment, so it is offering a PPU trial. I am afraid that this user will lose access to the premium capacity workspace once the 60 days trial is over.
Any thoughts on what could be happening here? Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the comment, Cassidy.
The user who is getting the message already has a Pro license.
Is there anywhere in your Premium capacity environment (outside of the premium workspaces themselves), where the Pro License users are permissioned to Premium Capacity. I made this user a contributor on our Capacity environment but that that did not make a difference. Power BI does not seem to recognize this user as an authorized user of Premium capacity.
Hi @bthomas , I'm not familiar with the term "enviroment" within Power BI. Power BI has Capacities & Workspaces. You have a Premium Capacity, so all new Workspaces will be assigned as Premium Workspaces by default. Double check your Workspace with the issue is assigned as "Premium", if it's Pro or Premium Per Users...perhaps thats part of the issue.
The pop ups themselves you may be able to disable by turning off the below. It use to be called something like "don't show users premium pop ups", so I'm not exactly sure what it does now:
Hi cassidy, you are right, I'm using the term "environment" loosely, I'm actually referring to the premium workspaces.
I did turn off the setting you highlighted (but after the user got the trial message)
Not sure what to say. If you've confirmed the Workspace is a Premium (has the diamond logo) and the User has a Pro License, I would not expect any popups. At least you'll find out in 50 or so days and it will be more clear what you need to do.
Free Users can access content in Premium Workspaces, but cannot access the Workspace itself without a Pro License.
In my setup, we have Premium Workspaces and a select group of 10 or so Pro License Users to manage content in those Workspaces. Everyone else is a Free User.
