PDF ingesting not working in dataflows

Hi all,

I got the following error when ingesting PDFs:

Error: PipelineException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt

It goes well when editing in power query, but it throws the error when updating.

Thanks

    Hi mcompany ,

This error usually indicates that there is a problem with the memory allocation or access of your system or application. There are a few possible causes and solutions for this error, such as:

    • Checking your antivirus or firewall settings. Some antivirus or firewall programs may block or interfere with the Power BI processes, causing the error.
    • Checking your ODBC drivers or data sources. If you are using ODBC connections to ingest PDFs, you may need to update or reinstall your ODBC drivers, or check the settings of your data sources.

  • Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for your answer.  I am ingesting the PDFs from the same source (Sharepoint) as other files which are part of other dataflows and upload right. Also, I tried with other PDFs and I am getting the same error.

I have been reading another thread , where another user seems to have the same problem.

    Best regards

I have the same problem, but to be more specific:

    - I have a dataflow and a PBI dataset with the exact same query (that gathers data from PDF's from a Sharepoint folder).

    - The PBI dataset is refreshing/working like expected

    - The dataflow returns the error: "Error: PipelineException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt"
    - Both the Dataset as the Dataflow are in the same Premium workspace which I am the owner of.

    - The dataflow uses the advanced engine for calculations

    - The preview of the dataflow returns the desired result

    - Editted addition #1: I have similar dataflows running that extract data from txt and xlms files, these run without issues.

    - Editted addition #2: the error occurs exactly at the moment that I use the Pdf.Tables function, or alternativly the "Invoke custom function". Without these steps, it runs fine.

I checked your suggestions, but this doesn't seem to be the problem.

    Please help
