PBIX published but disconnected
Can some explain what is going on. I can publish this pbix no problem, but if one of my coleagues tries to publish it he gets a file published but disconnected. If I go onto the service I see t...
Go to Settings in Power BI Service and Choose Manage Connections and gateways.
There you will find the cloud connection used for your dataset.
Go to more actions and choose Manage Users and check if your collegue's Id is added as a User.

Hi masplin,
When you publish a PBIX to the Power BI Service, the dataset will stay connected only if:
- The data source credentials are configured properly in the Service.
- The dataset is mapped to the correct gateway/cloud connection.
- You have permission to use the data source in the gateway/cloud connection.
Required permissions -
- Build/Edit permission on the dataset
- Access to the gateway data source (granted by gateway admin) - Usually “User” access is enough to use the connection
- For cloud sources - access to the connection credentials
