Hi. I want to download a file from PBI service to do some calculations for my own purposes, and publish it to the PBI service in a new folder. If I do some changes in the file on my computer and want to publish a new file to the PBI service, will the original file on PBI service also change?
Solved! Go to Solution.
If you rename your copy before you upload it once again, you should be fine and the original file on the service stays unchanged.
In any case, before overwriting an existing file, the PBI Service gives you a warning message. If you don't see this message, you are fine. Otherwise you can abort your upload.
Hello @LFM ,
it's as @AMeyersen mentioned, but to add on it you can also publish it to a different workspace ot to My Workspace without also getting affected.
but in case you want to publish it to the same workspace you should change the name of the pbix file so it won't replace the main one.
