PBI report service failure: Pivot Table

Hi Team,

Issue:

I'm facing data source error while refreshing the report in service

Error :  The 'XYZ' column does not exist in the rowset. Table: ABC

My ABC table is the duplicate of it's source table and has pivoted columns.

However, the report refreshes fine in desktop.

Please help urgent.

Thanks

    Hi Anonymous ,

Thanks for the reply from lbendlin .

I created a simple sample data and it worked fine:

    Type

    Value

    A

    10

    B

    20

    A

    30

    B

    40

    A

    50

    B

    60

    After pivot:

    A

    B

    90

    120

The visuals can be refreshed and viewed normally in the Service before and after pivoting.

Please try downloading the latest version of Power BI Desktop, re-create the pivot table in Power BI Desktop, republish the dataset to the Power BI service, and then try refreshing it.

If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me.

    Best Regards,

  • Power BI Service cannot handle dynamic data sources. You will likely need to refrain from pivoting in Power Query and instead do it in the User Interface (with a matrix visual)
