PBI capacity info - Help finding!
Hi pollyannaog ,
Pull data from xBackground table to find the on-demand refreshes and who triggered it.In the fabric capacity metrics app in the first page it will show the performance delta table from that table you will be able find the datasets which are large and their performance.
In our tenant everything is monitored by our team and necessary actions will be taken.
These is how we manage -
1.We will be having only one tenant admin account from that we will control all support team admins access and gateway access etc,..
2.For power bi license,workspace creation, on-premises data gateway connection creation people reach out to our team.
3.If any one needs a premium capacity workspace then they should get an approval from any one of the existing capacity owners in their division or they need to get their own capacity.
4.All our base capacities starts from P1 or F64.
5.We have a bunch of power automate flows to trigger the alerts to our capacity owners and users.

You can use the timepoint drill feature and you can check background operations to understand who did the on-demand refresh at a particular time-point.

Yeah, we are using the Fabic Metrics Capacity over here, but there are hundreds reports and no way to drill down on each of him to try to understand who are starting on-demand refreshes. Thats why we are looking for a way to block this feature. Is there a way?
Right now you can only admonish them, but you cannot prevent on-demand or API refreshes. If this is important to you please consider voting for an existing idea or raising a new one at https://ideas.fabric.microsoft.com
