PBI Service Dataset refresh fail meanwhile in PBI desktop works

Hi all,

several weeks ago I scheduled an automatic dataset refresh in PBI service. This refresh fails everytime , with the same kind of issue :

An error occurred while processing the data in the dataset. Refresh failed: Seguimiento Clientes  has failed to refresh. Failure details: The last refresh attempt failed because of an internal service error. This is usually a transient issue. If you try again later and still see this message, contact support. The '<ccon>user</ccon>' column does not exist in the rowset. Table: logs.

This error only happends in PBI Service. In PBI desktop, with the same dataset, the refresh works everytime.

The issue shown above is always the same, but "the "name" column does not exists in the rowset" changes every time I executed the refresh. The "column not founded" exists in the rowset, and I can view its data not only in the db but also in the PBI desktop.

I'm using mongodb Atlas BD.

Someone had the same issue and can help me?

Hi . Thanks for your response, but I can't solve my issue.

"Sometimes this error is because a column was moved, renamed or removed in the original data source.  You should try to open PBI desktop, clear your cache.  Then, just to be paranoid about it.  Close Power BI and re-open it and open that file.  Then, in that file, do the Refresh and then check to see if it is there." --> It isn't the case. I didnt remove any column. In PowerBI Desktop works always.

"If there is an error still after all of that, then go backto desktop and save a renamed version of the report and publish that and see if the renamed version works." --> This works  the first time I do it. But after this first time, the error continue. Can I do anything more?

Hi, @Mariogon 

Sometimes this error is because a column was moved, renamed or removed in the original data source.  You should try to open PBI desktop, clear your cache.  Then, just to be paranoid about it.  Close Power BI and re-open it and open that file.  Then, in that file, do the Refresh and then check to see if it is there.  If it is, re-publish and see if it is now there on the Service side.  Refresh on the Service side and see if there is an error.  If there is an error still after all of that, then go backto desktop and save a renamed version of the report and publish that and see if the renamed version works.
