PBI Refresh Halted on Workspace

If the data volume is too large, it might cause the refresh to time out. You could try reducing the amount of data being imported.
Make sure the gateway version is up-to-date and that the report has a gateway selected. If there is no gateway selected, the data source might have changed or might be missing.
An outdated Power BI Desktop version could cause issues. Try updating to the latest version. Sometimes, clearing your internet browser cache can help resolve issues. Check if Power BI Desktop can connect to the database.
For certain queries, you can make sure they aren’t loaded in Power BI Desktop. Unselect ‘Enable load’ in the context menu of the query in Power Query Editor.

- We had the issue on the PBI workspace which does not have gateway setup.
- About the PBI desktop version, because this is a Large dataset, we've been using ALM toolkit to publish changes to the dataset on workspace. In this case, do we still need to update the desktop version already published online while ago?
- Yes. PBI desktop was able to connect to the database, though the dataset online was not refreshing.
- What kind of queries should not be loded? We enabled load for all data sources.
