PBI Dataset refresh failure due to inactivity
- Anonymous3 years ago
Hi Anonymous ,
In Power BI Service, After two months of inactivity, scheduled refresh on your dataset is paused. A dataset is considered inactive when no user has visited any dashboard or report built on the dataset. When scheduled refresh is paused, the dataset owner is sent an email. The refresh schedule for the dataset is then displayed as disabled. To resume scheduled refresh, revisit any dashboard or report built on the dataset.
For more details, you can read related document: Configure scheduled refresh - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Hi dlopez ,
I believe that this can not be disabled. But, why would you want to disable it? If nobody is looking at or using a report why would you want to keep it running?
Why? Because I subscribe to reports but do not go into powerbi to view them. I only want to view them in my inbox. I am guessing there are many others that do the same. I understand Microsoft's reasoning behind this rule, but I think they should consider active subscriptions before disabling the refresh.
