Outlook 365 email timestamps 2

Related to this issue , I've been struggling with time zone issues in Power BI. I've tried many solutions and have also involved other PBI specialists - all has failed so far.

In my case, PBI service adjusts to UTC 0 time columns originating from Outlook emails as data source. Time columns that do not originate from Outlook (text based), are untouched by PBI service and are displayed correctly (unaltered). This is clearly a pesky issue that I think should be configurable in Service: "use x timezone and observe daylight saving time for that time zone". Much like Outlook itself can handle.

Has anyone else come accross this problem of time data altered depending on data sources and has a fix for it?

Hi @bernardoc ,

I am wondering if either of these help you out as they appear to be the solution to the same issue:

Solved: Outlook 365 email timestamps - Microsoft Power BI Community

or

The Last Timestamp of Loading Data - Microsoft Power BI Community

Hi @collinq ,

I've refferred to the first solution in my original message and said it has failed to me. The second thread is unrelated somewhat.

Hey @bernardoc ,

I am wondering if perhaps you should just treat the symptom rather that cure the disease?  That is not my favorite approach but might work for you.  If you treat the symptom, why not create a DAX formula (or you could do it in Power Query) that adds/subtracts the appropriate amount of time from that timestamp to get the right time?

I've already tried multiple functions and calculations, including your suggestion (in multiple ways). All has failed. I had PBI advanced trainers involved with the problem, they also could not sort this one out.
