Org apps are not showing uploaded icon image in tiles view in power bi tenant

When you create an org app, you can add an image to the app. This image isn't showing on your app as an icon in tile view in the service under apps. Traditional apps do have this functionality. We are using app icons to separate production and test environment as an example of usage.

👋 Hi @terjefjeldstad - I work with the team building org apps (in preview). We havent built that functionality yet, showing the custom org app icon as the icon in list experiences in Fabric and Power BI. We plan to, but I dont have timelines to share.

There are many ways in which workspace apps and org app items will differ as we build out org apps. We are listening carefully to where customers expect parity between apps and org apps...and weighing what is critical to org app adoption and priortizing accordingly.

Keep bringing up your parity needs here in the community or by submmiting ideas at https://ideas.fabric.microsoft.com/ and we'll review.

Appreciate it! 🙌

Hi @terjefjeldstad,
Thanks for using Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

In the document it is mentioned that Org Apps preview is off by default. A Microsoft Fabric admin must enable "Org apps (preview)" in Admin portal > Tenant settings to allow access.

Hey there,

Here are a few solutions for you.

1. Power BI may have specific requirements for image size and format. Check that you're in compliance.

2. If the app is managed by an organization-wide policy, some Power BI Admin settings might restrict custom icons.

3. Sometimes, updates take a few minutes or hours to propagate.

4. If nothing works, try removing and re-adding the image.

Cheerio,

Z😁😁

As you see here, I use icon on tradional apps, but when adding image to org apps, they are not showing:

Yes that is very strange, sorry I am not sure then. Hope someone gives you an answer 😅
