Org Apps and date format - not showing based on settings in report
Hi,
I have noticed a difference in how date formatting is handled between Workspace Apps and Organizational Apps.
In my example, I have a Power BI report where the model culture and locale are configured in Power BI Desktop. As a result, dates are displayed in the format dd.MM.yyyy.
After publishing the report to the Power BI Service, the report continues to display dates correctly as dd.MM.yyyy.
When the same report is included in a Workspace App, the date format is also displayed correctly.
However, when the report is included in an Organizational App, the date format appears to follow the language settings of the Power BI/Fabric Service (or browser) instead of the locale settings defined in the report. For example, dates are displayed as MM.dd.yyyy.
Is it possible for Organizational Apps to respect the locale and culture settings configured in the report, in the same way that Workspace Apps do?
Many users prefer to use the Power BI/Fabric interface in English while still viewing reports using their local date and number formats. Therefore, it would be beneficial if Organizational Apps used the report's locale settings rather than the service language settings.

Hi Lars_Soreide
Organizational Apps in Power BI currently do not fully respect the locale settings defined in the report model and may instead use the Service or browser language settings. This can cause dates to appear as MM.dd.yyyy in Organizational Apps, even though Workspace Apps honor the report’s configured locale.
We recommend submitting this as a feature request through the Power BI Ideas Forum, so the Product Group can consider enabling Organizational Apps to consistently respect the report/model locale settings for date and number formatting, independently of the viewer’s Power BI/Fabric or browser language settings
