Org App Saving Unexpected Error
Hi KristenBenjamin,
That's a great find! Tools like TinyPNG or just re-saving in Paint with lower quality settings can help you reliably hit that target size.

Hi KristenBenjamin,
Hope you're doing well!
This is a platform-side bug that Microsoft is aware of. The error triggers on the first save attempt when an image/photo is included, but the save actually succeeds on a second attempt. It's not caused by your image or your configuration. So, try this step by step:
- Upload your photo as usual
- Hit Save, you'll get the unexpected error
- Hit Save again immediately, it will succeed
If the double save doesn't work, here's my recommendation :
- Image format: Use a standard JPG or PNG. Avoid files with transparency (alpha channels) or unusual metadata — Power BI can struggle with these even if the extension looks correct
- Image size: Keep your app icon/photo well under 30 MB (ideally under a few hundred KB for a logo/icon)
Re-encode the image: Open it in Paint and re-save it as PNG or JPG. This strips out metadata that can cause issues
Hope this helps! Please, don't forget to accept as solution ✅ and give kudos 👍 in order to keep helping others.

Hi oussamahaimoud,
I'm happy to hear that this is something they're already aware of. I believe my error was slightly different than what was described, as no matter how many times I hit save it wouldn't work. After some additional troubleshooting, we figured out that even though I was resizing the file to be 44 KB when it actually saved it saved as 45 KB and the limit when you're uploading is 45KB so the file actually needs to read as 44 for the image to save.
